I recently installed EA Server 5.5 on several machines (both development and enterprise editions). All these new installations show timestamps in GMT in the log files. Per log profile, I am using Simple Date format to print date. If that's the case, Java must be reading the system setting to identify time zone. Whatever it is, it seems to be ignoring the local timezone (PDT) completely. btw, we are using Java 1.4.2_12.
This does not happen with existing EA Server installations. So, they must have done something to change the timezone. I tried diff'ing all the properties files etc and nothing turned up. I am wondering if there is any registry tweak or if it is part of the license information.
I saw some references to this issue on old Sybase forum, but no correct solution. I really hope someone here has a solution for this issue.
